Being one of the five genres of opera in China, Huangmei opera has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage. This course is mainly about the place where Huangmei opera originated, its singing and development, with clips of such performances as The Female Prince Consort, Picking Grass for Piggy, Viewing the Lanterns, and Goddess Marriage. Analysis and demonstration of actions in these performances will also be included.
