This approach aids students in understanding the origin of Chinese characters, principles of character formation, evolution of character forms, as well as the original meaning, extended meanings, and metaphorical meanings of the characters they are learning. The aim is to eliminate students' apprehension towards Chinese characters and cultivate their ability to independently study the form, pronunciation, and meaning of characters. Furthermore, by focusing on different categories of Chinese characters, students can delve into China's history, nature, art, and daily life through ancient characters. This allows them to gain a preliminary understanding of the Chinese stories embedded in characters, deeply appreciate the cultural richness behind Chinese characters, and comprehend the Chinese thoughts reflected in related characters, such as the Chinese perspectives on history, nature, art, and life.
