Yangrou paomo(Pita bread soaked in lamb soup) are at the heart of Shaanxi's culinary culture for centuries, and spending time in bun restaurants is a way of life for Shaanxi people. A bowl of steaming steamed bun, a few cloves of sugar garlic and the joy of a sweaty, hearty meal with three or two friends are the life aesthetics in this ancient city. And barbecued meat is unique in Xi'an as a cuisine that is widely popular around the world. “The Sanqin Combo” is a persistent passion for the people of Xi’an. It consists of a combination of meat and vegetables, with a strong and enticing aroma and appealing colors. Women love the refreshing and spicy “Liangpi” (Cold noodles) while men adore the tender and fragrant “Roujiamo” (Meat burger). Even children can’t resist the “Bingfeng” soda, which they are introduced to at a young age. For Xi’an natives living far away from home, the “The Sanqin Combo” is what they miss the most. The live course “Xi’an Cuisine” introduces students to online sessions where they can join Chinese teachers and international students in shredding the hard bread, enjoying barbecue, and sharing memories about their childhood taste of “The Sanqin Combo”. Through these interactions, participants can immerse themselves in the lifestyle of Xi’an locals and experience the mysterious connection between food and culture in a slow-paced lifestyle.

羊肉泡馍是陕西数百年美食文化的核心,在泡馍馆消磨时光是陕西人的生活方式。一碗热气腾腾的泡馍、几瓣糖蒜,和三两好友一起吃出满头大汗、酣畅淋漓的快乐是这座古城的生活美学。而烤肉作为一种受到世界各国广泛欢迎的美食,在西安独具特色。

三秦套餐是西安人骨血里的执着。它荤素搭配、香气浓郁、色彩诱人。女人爱凉皮的油辣筋道,男人爱肉夹馍的软烂醇香,孩子“从小就喝它”的冰峰汽水更是老幼皆宜。远走异地他乡的西安人,最心心念念的就是这一口“三秦套餐”。

直播课程《美食西安》,同学们线上和中国老师、国际学生一起掰馍、吃烤肉,常常“小时候的味道——三秦套餐”,一起聊聊天,感受老西安人的生活方式,在慢生活中品味美食与文化的神秘关联。
