Hebei is one of the major cultural birthplaces of China and a major province of cultural relics, with 930 cultural relics protection units at the provincial level and above, ranking first in the country. Hebei has three world cultural heritages in its territory: the Great Wall, the Chengde Summer Resort and surrounding temples, the Qing East Tomb and the Qing West Tomb; and five national historical and cultural cities: Handan, Baoding, Chengde, Zhengding and Shanhaiguan.
