This course aims to expose the learners to “Pass of the World”- Tongguan Ancient City. It will offer them an opportunity to experience the global layout, architectural style and art features of Tongguan Ancient City Scenic Spot, to interpret the perilousness of “An eternally impregnable pass and an age-old city”, and to appreciate its magnificence in Tongguan where Yellow River, Weihe River and North Luohe River converge, and appreciate such relics as ancient dwellings, well and pagoda tree in Shuipo Lane, the first lane in Tongguan, their cultural connotations and historic stories. Meanwhile, it will provide the learners a chance to study Chinese characters, poems and legends associated with Tongguan Ancient City. Therefore, this course is to reach a three-fold goal that learners may appreciate the beautiful landscape, experience Chinese culture and polish Chinese language with fun as well.
