Chinese traditional culture is a profound cultural system with a long history and far-reaching influence. Its profound traditional festivals, exquisite folk arts and handicrafts, as well as the world-famous Top Ten of China, have deeply attracted people all over the world. This lesson first introduces Chinese traditional festivals such as the Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, the Dragon Boat Festival, and the Mid-autumn Festival to deepen the international students’ understanding of the origin, custom and connotation of Chinese traditional festivals. Secondly, it introduces Chinese Folk Art and Handicrafts such as paper-cutting, Chinese knots, Kite and embroidery art etc to help international students understand the rich, extensive and profound characteristics of Chinese folk art and handicrafts and the exquisite beauty of traditional crafts. Finally, it introduces the China’s Top Ten and helps international students know more about China.
