The Longshan culture dates back to about 4600 to 4000 years BP, with black pottery as its unique feature. Well-developed handicraft industry and agriculture, together with the appearance of words and city-state, indicated that Longshan Culture had stepped into the era of civilization, which is known as “the Venus of Chinese civilization”. In this course, we will follow the lecturer to get closer to the Chengziya Site located in the Longshan town, Zhangqiu District, Jinan City, to understand the life of the ancestors, their superior craftsmanship for making pottery and spiritual beliefs, ect., and to experience the brilliant ancient civilization.
