This episode introduces the first three solar terms of autumn: Li Qiu,Chu Shu, and Bai Lu, and their respective Wuhou, or natural wonders. The arrival of Li Qiu means that the summer heat has gradually begun to fade away. There are three Wuhou that belong to Li Qiu, the first is “The Arrival of Cool Wind”, the second is “The Birth of Clear Dew”, and the third is “The Chirping Cicadas”.In Li Qiu, the cicadas are chirping in the trees, the ponds are covered in patches of lotus, and lily pads for frogs, making these autumn nights unbelievably comfortable. There are three Wuhou that belong to Chu Shu, the first is “The Eagle’s Sacrifice”,the second is “The Fading of Everything” and the third is “The Ripening Harvest”. The most exciting part of Chu Shu is the harvesting of crops, nature is truly bountiful during this time.The three Wuhou that belong to Bai Lu are “The Swan Comes”, “The Xuan Birds Return”and “The Birds Store for Winter”. The arrival of the Bai Lu is first marked by the migratory birds, who begin to find new homes and store food for cold winter. Nature, too, gradually sheds her vibrant, leafy garments, and a landscape of dyed trees and gold is revealed.
