This course mainly teaches the basic processes and aesthetic characteristics of several traditional Chinese pottery techniques. Based on the teachings, demonstrations and practices, there was a certain understanding of the molding techniques and aesthetics of traditional ceramic pieces through slab molding and mud strip construction. The course guides and helps students to understand the basic situation and characteristics of traditional ceramics and modern ceramics in the context of China's rich cultural background, deepening the students' understanding and love of traditional "handicraft cultural art" in Chinese ceramic art. At the same time, the course also focuses on explaining our pottery studio's regionally-characteristic ice and snow ceramics art. This art creatively incorporates the unique sparkling ice patterns and northern ice and snow sentiments into ceramic art pieces, giving the pieces a unique and novel style and artistic characteristics with the charm of northern ice and snow art, infusing new life into ceramic art.
