The Forbidden City in Beijing is the royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China, located in the center of Beijing's central axis. It has experienced 600 years of vicissitudes and is a world cultural heritage. In this course, Teacher Tang will lead students from the “Chinese Bridge” to visit the Forbidden City. We will enter the palace from the Meridian Gate and visit the Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Central Harmony and Hall of Preserving Harmony on the central axis in turn. Learn about the purpose of the water tanks that can be seen everywhere in the Forbidden City and the difficult process of transporting the huge Yunlong Step Stone to the Forbidden City. When visiting the East and West Six Palaces, we can think of the people who lived here in the past hundreds of years in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the past events that happened here. Finally, after experiencing the solemn atmosphere of the palace, we can relax in the interesting imperial garden.
