There are tens of thousands of lanes in Beijing, and each lane has its own story and legendary experience. In this course, Teacher Tang will lead students from the “Chinese Bridge” to visit the four most famous lanes in Beijing—Qianmen Dashilanr, Yangmeizhuxie Street, Liulichang and Guozijian Street. At Qianmen Dashilanr, we will taste Wuyutai’s most popular matcha ice cream, pickles from Liubiju and pastries from Daoxiang Village, and experience the unique charm of time-honored Chinese brands such as Majuyuan, Neiliansheng, Badaxiang and Sidaheng; At Yangmeizhuxie Street, we will learn about the origin of the street’s name and listen to the story of "Lord Rabbit" explained by the shop owner; experience the strong scholarly cultural atmosphere of the century-old store like Rongbaozhai and Yidege at Liulichang; and experience the solemnity and mystery of Guozijian and Confucius Temple in Guozijian Street.
