1Tai Chi Eight Methods and Five Steps is an introductory Taijiquan routine created by the China General Administration of Sport. It consists of eight techniques: Peng (warding off), Lv (rolling back),Ji (pressing),An (pushing),Cai (pulling down), Lie (splitting), Zhou (elbowing), Kao (body stroke), and five steps: Jin (advancing), Tui (retreating), Gu (shifting left), Pan (shifting right), and Ding (central equilibrium), also known as the “Thirteen Tai Chi Postures”. The eight methods and five steps embody the core techniques of of Taijiquan in each genre, but are also simple enough to be the best choice for beginners.
太极八法五步,是国家体育总局组织编创的太极拳入门套路。包括:掤、捋、挤、按、採、挒、肘、靠八种手法,以及进、退、顾、盼、定五种步法,也称「太极十三式」。太极八法五步既能体现各流派太极拳的核心技术,又大道至简,是太极初学者入门的最佳选择。
