Shenzhen was one of the earliest pilot cities of China's reform and opening-up policy, thus developing into the youngest metropolis in China, and is now designated as one of the key cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. After 40 years of development, Shenzhen has made many great achievements, among which high-tech manufacturing is the most prominent. Many well-known enterprises in Shenzhen's manufacturing industry, such as BYD and Huawei, with their leading technological advantages in China and even the world, have deeply participated in Shenzhen's key development projects, such as new energy vehicles and smart city, and made outstanding contributions. In addition, the development of Shenzhen and Guangzhou, a neighboring metropolis, needs to be understood within the framework of China’s national strategies, such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Dual Circulation Strategy.
