Ceramics are the technological achievements of human beings by using clay, minerals and other natural resources and firing. It has a very close relationship with human history and civilization. Especially the invention of ceramics and its brilliant achievements in the crafts and techniques have made great contributions to the progress of human life and cultural development. This course introduces the categories and characteristics of ceramics in different periods based on the historical context of the development of Chinese ceramics. A “Ceramic History” is not only the epitome of the long development history of national art and science, but also the true reflection of social life, cultural exchange and even politics and economy at that time.
