Hunan University is located in Changsha, Hunan Province. In order to lead international students to enjoy the characteristic beauty of Changsha and feel the integration of history and Modernity of Changsha, so as to deepen the students' impression and understanding of Chinese cities and development, Hunan University specially offers a Chinese culture experience course "beautiful Changsha". Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, is located in the northeast of Hunan Province. It is approved as the pilot zone for overall reform of national "Two-oriented Society" construction ( Resource-saving and environment-friendly society). It is the national comprehensive transportation hub and the political, economic, cultural, scientific, educational and trade center of Hunan Province. It is also the birthplace of Chu civilization and culture, known as "hometown of Qu Jia", "famous city of Chu and Han Dynasties" and "Xiaoxiang Zhusi". As one of the first group of National Historical and Cultural Cities, it has historical sites such as Mawangdui tombs of Han Dynasty and Tongguan kiln. Meanwhile Changsha is one of China’s new “Internet Celebrity”, known as the “Capital of Entertainment”, which once ranked number 1 among top 10 happiest provincial capitals in CCTV’s China Economic Life Survey. This course combined recorded broadcast and live broadcast as teaching methods. The recorded course mainly introduces the characteristics of Changsha to help students get a panoramic view of Changsha city. The live course will take students to experience the five famous scenic spots in Changsha such as Aiwan Pavilion of Yuelu Mountain, Art Center of Meixi Lake Area, Tianxin Tower, Dufu Tower Facing A River and Orange Island, Three museums and One Hall.
