Chinese people love food, and every festival has a corresponding holiday food. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, people eat moon cakes. Moon cakes are offerings to worship the moon god during the Mid-Autumn Festival in ancient times. Later, people gradually took the Mid-Autumn Festival moon viewing and tasting moon cakes as a major symbol of family reunion. This course introduces the origin, classification and meaning of moon cakes, so that foreign friends can understand the symbolic meaning of moon cakes, a traditional Chinese diet, and enhance their desire to explore and identify with Chinese culture.
