Beijing Hutong is famous and has unique charm， which has inherited the historic genes of Beijing’s urban development. The Hutong are small lanes that allow people to walk randomly. They are the arteries of Beijing’s traffic. Most of the hutongs were built during the Yuan Dynasty in the 13th century, when the Moguls started to build the capital. Marco Polo, the famous Italian traveler marveled in his travel notes: “the layout of the city is so well structured, making other cities pale in comparison”.
