The invention of ceramics is one of the greatest contributions to the world by Chinese people. Before Chinese ceramics were introduced overseas, most foreign countries primarily used utensils made of wood, tin, or silver. The situation has changed with the wide spread of Chinese ceramics. In the 19th century, almost the entire population in the world started using ceramics. Production techniques of Chinese ceramics were introduced to all over the world, promoting the development of civilizations. Thus, China was praised as the country of porcelain. In order to allow more students from domestic and overseas to know more about ceramics and love ceramics, we are presenting this interesting course. This course introduces all aspects about tradition Chinese ceramics, from famous ceramics products to history, and from production techniques to decoration craftsmanship. Students would obtain knowledge and understanding regarding ceramic in a short time, and could distinguish different kinds of products. Additionally, students could develop the ability to appreciate the artifacts of different designs, different glazing colors and different patterns.
