The course "Fundamentals of Mechanical" provides a comprehensive and in-depth introduction to machinery from several aspects such as the basic concepts of machinery, the development of machinery and several types of classical machines, so that students majoring in machinery can learn from shallow to deep, from the whole to the details, and continuously expand their professional knowledge and vocational ability. This course contains 10 sections, namely, understanding machinery, Chinese machinery, concept and characteristics of plane linkage mechanism, understanding hinge four-rod mechanism, understanding slider four-rod mechanism, understanding cam mechanism, understanding belt drive, threaded coupling, types of key coupling and types and materials of shafts. Firstly, the concept of machinery, the connection and difference between machinery, machine and mechanism, the connection and difference between components and parts are explained to make everyone aware of the importance and necessity of learning machinery, then it specifically explains the development of Chinese machinery. In this part, several kinds of ancient Chinese machinery are introduced roughly, and the development status of modern Chinese machinery is presented. Next, the basic concepts, characteristics and applications of several common mechanical devices are outlined. The overall arrangement of the course is well organized and very compact, and each section of the course is concise, clear and easy to understand. The course is taught by several experienced teachers of the school, and each lesson takes only a few minutes to complete, but they all contain a lot of important knowledge, which are convenient for students to use their free time to study repeatedly and progress.
