Yellow River Estuary Custom: This course is divided into eight parts: pasting Spring Festival couplets, offering wells to water storage, inviting family members to the hall (Jiatang), calling for brightness (Ming), scattering the New Year (Sa Sui), staying up late on New Year’s Eve (Shousui), family reunion dinner, and lucky money. We will lead students to learn and understand the traditional New Year's Eve customs in the Yellow River estuary area. Through the study of the historical origins and traditional stories behind the evolution of each custom, students can deeply perceive the long history of the Chinese nation, rich social and cultural connotations and rich folk customs from the local characteristic customs of the Yellow River Estuary.
