Over millions of years of human history, the planet we live on has gradually become the home of civilization. From the joy of acquiring the first tinder to the holiness of mastering space and time, from the numerous settlements to the initial formation of China, it is a process of continuous improvement in social productivity, gradual cohesion of social consensus, continuous integration of multi-cultures and increasingly standardized etiquette regulations. Over the time-honored history, the Chinese nation has gone through a process of development that is different from that of other civilizations in the world. It has condensed a series of spiritual traits of the Chinese civilization, integrated and formed a thought featuring open and inclusive, exchange and mutual learning, treating people with courtesy, which originated from the Tao Temple in Shanxi more than 4,000 years ago. This course aims to prove millions of years of human history by archaeology, ten thousand years of cultural history and five thousand years of civilization. It is also hoped that the important role of Shanxi played in the development of Chinese civilization can be revealed in a scientific way so as to explore the origin of the civilization.
