Paper-cutting is one of the oldest and most popular folk art in China. As a kind of hollowed-out art, it can offer the visually-ventilated feeling and the enjoyment of art for people. Paper-cutting covers various patterns clipped by scissors such as window decorations, door curtains, wall and ceiling ornaments and lantern stickers. Clipping and carving are turning into two basic ways of making patterns in the paper-cutting history. Paper-cutting is a kind of plastic arts which is processed by scissors or knives on paper. The lines of paper cutting are smooth, visualized and organically-connected. The images of paper-cutting are rich, well proportioned and noticeable. The designs of paper cutting are vivid, exaggerated, vibrant and exquisite. They can not only expose people to folk culture and the fun of decorations but also convey good omens and blessings.
