In addition to introducing the purification and R&D of artemisinin in the treatment of malaria, this course also focuses on the characteristics of frequently-occurring skin diseases in the South Pacific, and introduces the usage and treatment of artemisinin in discoid lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus. Starting from the application of artemisinin, this course will enhance the recognition of TCM among the residents in the South Pacific region. It will also introduce Music Therapy in TCM, external treatment of TCM(using herbal masks and lotions to achieve beauty and skin care, etc.), the martial arts - the origin of the combination of medicine and exercise in TCM, and the abundant herbal resources (introduction to the R&D of artemisinin, the ingredients in arsenic that can be extracted to treat leukemia, etc.). In addition, based on the content of stress reduction, beauty, fitness and modern application of TCM, and combined with the local situation, this course covers the teaching of Chinese phonetics, phrases, reading, listening and speaking, to develop students’ overall language skills and improve their ability to express themselves logically in Chinese.
