The Dong Chorus are traditional folk music popular in Liping County, Congjiang County and other areas in southeastern Guizhou. Its development is deeply related to its life form of Drum Tower, open and hospitable customs, and the Dong language. The main tracks include "Yuandong", "Song of Cicada", "Welcome to Dongzhai" and so on. The Dong Chorus was included in UNESCO's List of Human Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection in 2009. This course helps students understand the history, forms, and characteristics of the Dong Chorus in Guizhou and appreciate the unique charm of Chinese minority cultures by introducing them to the Dong Chorus and watching videos and performances.
