In this class, we'll at first study the Chinese characters and language. The main content includes how Chinese characters came into being and the development of Chinese characters. The lecturer will explain the “Chinese Character Simplification Scheme” and the meaning of Chinese cultural sphere. Next we'll study the Contemporary Chinese Culture. The content includes 4 major Chinese traditional festivals——Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Duanwu Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, the basic necessities of modern Chinese life, including Chinese-style clothing, Chinese food culture, traditional housing style and new commercial housing. Besides, there will be introduction on Chinese public transports, modern Chinese wedding culture, overseas tourism, study abroad and Chinese pop music.
