1There is also one such old block in Haikou-Qilou Old Street, which has witnessed the vicissitudes of the past hundred years and has become the truest and most direct portrayal of contemporary Haikou urban culture. Haikou arcade building complex was built in the middle of 19th century. With the vigorous development of shipping and commerce, it reached its peak in the 1920s and 40s, and gradually formed the features of Europe and Asia mixed with Nanyang culture. The arcade-style architecture first appeared in ancient Greece about 2,000 years ago, and later influenced southern Europe, the Mediterranean Sea and Southeast Asia, so it was studied by the early Hainanese in Lower Nanyang and used in the Guangzong Yaozu project in their hometown-the Nanyang-style arcade in Haikou was born. Qilou block has experienced wind and rain, and witnessed the vicissitudes of Haikou city for a hundred years. Its soul lies not only in the beautiful facade shape of Furama, but also in its "living" imprint engraved in reinforced concrete.
