Sun Island Wetland Park is a wetland transition zone between Songbei River Bank and Songhua River in Harbin, with a narrow and long distribution. The wetland park covers a total area of 10426 hectares, including 7454.63 hectares of wetlands, with a wetland rate of 71.5%. It is composed of river wetlands, marsh wetlands and artificial wetlands. The good vegetation environment in the wetland park makes it a habitat or migration place of many wild animals. The wetland park has 463 species of vascular plants belonging to 66 families, 243 genera, and 211 species of vertebrates belonging to 62 families, 32 orders, 6 classes.
