Course Description Dough flower, known as flower bun and flower cake in Heyang county, is a traditional Chinese folk art of sculpture with flour as the main raw material. It is popular throughout the central part of Weinan region, and is deeply loved by the local people. At weddings and funerals, birthday celebrations, festivals and other folk activities, people in Heyang usually make different patterns of dough flowers to add a kind of rituals and brilliance to their ordinary life. This course aims to offer learners an opportunity to appreciate the beauty emanating from Heyang dough flower, and experience the cultural connotations contained in and conveyed by those artworks, to feel the exquisite art of dough sculptures, and then promote Chinese language skills with fun as well.
