Chinese characters, the fruit of civilization development of the Chinese nation for thousands of years, are the only pictographs in the world that are still in use now. So, Chinese characters are the key to opening the door of Chinese culture. With Chinese characters as the key, this course will enable us to explore the origins of and expand the thinking of Chinese characters, thus understanding the behaviors, habits and psychology of Chinese people as well as China’s cultural phenomena in terms of geography, history, folklore, philosophy and so on behind Chinese characters.
