This course focuses on Shandong, China, with a focus on the unique history of Qi culture. The hometown of Qi mainly refers to Zibo city of Shandong Province. Zibo is the former capital of qi state in the pre-Qin period, the birthplace of Qi culture and the origin of world football. Qi culture, as one of China's regional civilizations, has always been famous for its spirit of change, openness, pragmatism and inclusiveness. "Entering the hometown of Qi" is taught with Chinese dialogues between teachers and students, with Chinese and English subtitles. The class lasts 50 minutes, including reading history from The Culture of Linzi Tomb, learning cultural relics from zhoucun ancient mall and viewing modern life from the characteristic food of Zibo. Understanding the history of qi is helpful to understand shandong culture and contemporary China in a deeper level.
