Lingnan area is located in the southeast coast of China. Its unique geographical location and historical background make Lingnan culture rich in connotation. As an important part of Lingnan culture, Lingnan dance shows unique glamour from both content and form. The performance integrates the history, beliefs and folk customs of Lingnan area into Lingnan Dance. Starting with the division of Lingnan geographical area, we select three representative dances, namely Lion Dance, Yingge Dance and Cup Flower Dance, to explain related common words, which is followed by representative performance videos. This course includes two parts. Traditional Chapter introduces the historical origins, performance forms, costumes, props and basic actions of these dances. Modern Chapter introduces the change and development of these dances in contemporary society, to enable the students to feel the penetration and continuation of traditional culture in contemporary life. This course not only enables students to appreciate Chinese traditional art with regional and national characteristics, but also let them feel sthe spirit of the Chinese nation's industriousness, bravery, kindness and enthusiasm. What's more, it shows the endless power of Chinese culture. The continuous inheritance of Lingnan dance is the embodiment of this vitality. The power of this inheritance crosses thousands of years and connects Chinese descendants worldwide. We hope that this power will become a bridge between China and the world to let the world discover the beauty and charm of China.
