As an old Chinese saying goes, food is of paramount importance to the people. Undeniably, food and cuisine have always been an indispensable part of Chinese culture. It is believed that one should have different food in different seasons, and that food could also be medicine. This session introduces eight cuisines in China, a few well recognized dishes and the anecdotes behind them. You will also be invited to take an online tour to the Hangzhou Cuisine Museum, where you will feel the beauty of the local cooking, and maybe learn a few culinary tricks balancing taste, deliciousness and nutrition, as well as dinning manners.

饮食文化交流是传承中华优秀的传统文化的重要载体,贯穿了人类文明发展的史册。本讲拟从介绍中国饮食文化的特征入手,展现中国人的“民以食为天”理念;介绍具有地域特征的八大菜系,挖掘药食同源,节气与饮食的中华传统饮食智慧思想。此外,课程还将带领学生云游杭帮菜博物馆。杭帮菜作为江南美食的代表,聚合江南的食材,气候物产、人民性格和文化审美,学生可以从中感受江南美食在色香味方面的传承和发展,学习中餐烹饪技巧和进餐礼仪。
