This course provides a brief introduction to the culture of Chinese medicine in the following seven areas. 1.The origin: Here, we explain that Chinese medicine finds its root in our everyday life. Chinese ancestors discovered and invented it in their lives. It enjoys a long history and is based on a tradition of more than 2000 years. 2.Tools: They include stone acupuncture needles and other types of needles. 3.Treatment Methods: These include the Four Diagnostic Methods, Acupuncture, Tuina(massage) therapy, Cupping, etc. 4.Herbs for TCM treatment: Here, we will first introduce Chinese medicines made from different materials, then we will introduce the preparation methods, and lastly, the classification. 5.Famous Doctors and Masterpieces: We will introduce the four renowned doctors and famous books in ancient times and the modern pharmacist Tu Youyou. 6.Chinese Medicine and Life: To further prove that Chinese Medicine is deeply rooted in our lives, we will introduce the effects of herbal diets. 7.Internationalization of TCM: Here, we will introduce the spread and application of Chinese medicine outside China. Through this course, students will understand the amazing effects of Chinese medicine. Completing the course will further stimulate their interest in learning the Chinese language and culture and prepare them for future international Chinese language teaching.
