This course explores the essence of Chinese culture through four themes of beauty, wisdom, etiquette and harmony. This course introduces the inner beauty of a opposite forwarding person who risked his life to save patients and the first secretary of a village who devoted himself to poverty alleviation during COVID-19 treatment through stories around. In daily life, we enjoy the convenience brought by Chinese science and technology, ranging from high-speed rail and 5G to mobile payment. China's "wisdom" is everywhere. In the course, we also take "etiquette" as the main line, leading students to understand the way of "etiquette" in Chinese society, and to feel the new expectation and yearning for social relations in the development process from ancient times to the present in the context of rapid economic growth in contemporary China. Since ancient times, there has been a saying in China that "harmony is most valuable". The Chinese people are modest and prudent, considerate of others' feelings, and do not highlight themselves too much, which is also for the harmonious development of society. However, the "harmony" of the Chinese people does not mean blind tolerance. It means tolerance and openness, accepting and hearing different opinions. This course aims to improve international students' understanding of Chinese society, cultivate their feelings of understanding and friendship with China, encourage them to be good ambassadors of sino-foreign friendship, and sing China's voice for the construction of a harmonious world.
