Weihai is a regional center city, an important marine industry base and a coastal tourist city in Shandong Peninsula, China approved by the State Council. It has about 3 million permanent population, 985.9Km long coastline and has the reputation of “ 1000Km coastline with scenery landscape”. It is one of the first batch of open coastal cities and the first national sanitary city in China. It has won the United Nations "Habitat Award" and "China Habitat Environment Award" successively, and is known as "the most suitable city for human living", and it is also the coastal city suitable for travel, learning and entrepreneurship. In June 2018, CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Weihai and gave an important instruction that "Weihai should develop in the direction of a refined city." Today, "exquisiteness" has become the new business card of Weihai.
