Peking Opera is known as one of the three national essence of the Chinese nation, along with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Painting. This course introduces the aesthetic value, artistic characteristics and the four types of roles of Peking Opera. Combined with specific repertoire, it introduces four famous Dan actors of Peking Opera and the four main schools formed from them. Being able to perform Peking Opera is now seen as the sign of one's deep cultural heritage and high artistic cultivation. Through the learning of Peking Opera and the presentation of the singing parts, students will develop a sense of "beauty" and feel the charm of traditional Chinese art.
