1Religion is the cultural product of people’s knowing and grasping the world. Because Lushan Mountain is located at the intersection of the great river (Yangtze River) and huge lake (Poyang Lake), and is embraced and supported by Jiujiang city, hence it has rich religious and cultural connotations. There are various religious forms on Lushan Mountain, and there is a saying goes that "Five religions co-exist on Lushan Mountain"; the religions of Lushan Mountain, especially Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity, all exert an important influence in the history of their respective religious developments; Lushan Mountain has a far-reaching religious history, which has resulted in the splendid religious and cultural contents, and has outstanding performance in architecture, literature, painting, music, classics, etc., and it is full of charms. For example, the well-known Li Bai's "Viewing the Waterfall at Lushan Montain" and Su Shi's "Written on the Wall at West Forest Temple" are both literary works that have a perfect combination of natural landscape and religious humanities. Knowing some religious knowledge is helpful for us to appreciate Lushan Mountain's poetry and better understand and inherit Chinese traditional culture.
