1Today China plays a pivotal role in the world economic and trade scenario. As China’s economic and trade partners, more and more countries have an increasing demand for practical, skilled and compound business talents who are proficient in Chinese language, familiar with Chinese culture, and have business knowledge and business practice capabilities. Moreover, the development of the “Belt and Road” calls for business Chinese to pave the way, and the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) will increase the world’s demand for business Chinese talents. Business Chinese talents should have Chinese language capability, practical business skill and cross-cultural communication ability, that is, in the context of specific business tasks, be able to express correctly, fluently and appropriately in specific business task situations, so as to complete business negotiations, business translation and business communication tasks. This course is an introductory course aimed to cultivate the comprehensive ability of business Chinese talents. Through the study of this course, students will have a general understanding of the basic aspects of international trade in goods, the basic methods of international business negotiation in Chinese, as well as Chinese business etiquette and Chinese negotiation style. This course tries to replace boring and difficult theories with interesting practice in order to arouse students’ interest in learning.
