China has a very long history, there are many unique traditional festivals and folk customs, which are rich in content, is a part of the long history and culture of our Chinese nation. In the course of “Traditional Festival and Food”, the lecturer will introduce four traditional festivals: Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. The lecturer will explain the origin and legends of each traditional festival, as well as the words and cultural connotations of the traditional festival with relevant audio,video, pictures and other materials, and introduce the food of these traditional festivals. Finally, the students will follow the lecturer to learn the greetings of these traditional festivals.Course Objectives.International students will learn about interesting festival customs, learn festival culture and feel the connotation of Chinese traditional festival cultures.1) Learn about the dates, origins and legends of these traditional festival. 2) Learn about the customs of these traditional festivals.3) Learn about the food culture of these traditional festivals.4) Can speak simple greetings.
