The course presents the treasure of Tianjin folk art, “Yangliuqing New Year Painting”, exhibited in Tianjin Museum. It introduces the origin and development of Yangliuqing New Year Paintings as well as the diverse themes and interesting stories behind them. The characteristics of the painting and the unique technique of “half-cut and half-painted” are demonstrated in the lecture. Moreover, it also shows the features of Tianjin traditional folk customs and Chinese people’s pursuit of beauty and goodness.
