Zhengding is recognized as a national historical cultural city. It is an important part of the state capital Shijiazhuang. It has a long and remarkable history, dating back to Northern Wei Dynasty (386-577), since then, for over1400 years, this town has been the seat of local governments. Together with Baoding and Beijing, they have been nicknamed the “Three Powerful Townships in the North.” With a long history like that, Zhengding is endowed with a unique and rich heritage of ancient historical relic sites. Currently it claims 9 national key historical sites, 5 provincial key historical sites. No too many cities of similar scales can boast such a rich heritage.
