1Idiom culture is one of the hundred flowers of China's traditional culture, as well as one of the quintessences of China's traditional cultural classics. Idioms are fixed phrases in Chinese language formed through long-term use and refinement, which are concise and incisive. Idioms reflect and express the colorful world of humanities and contain the tendencies and guidelines of various thoughts and behaviors of the national culture, and are a vivid and perceptible portrayal of the cultural mentality of the Chinese people. This course takes participants through the idiom of “he Foolish Old Man, Who Removed the Mountains” to appreciate the confidence and perseverance of ancient Chinese working people, and to illustrate the principle that perseverance is necessary to overcome difficulties.
