Songyang Academy, formerly known as Songyang Temple, is located at the south foot of Songshan Mountain, 2.5 kilometers north of Dengfeng City. Songyang Academy of Classical Learning declined in the Southern Song Dynasty, rebuilt in the period of Kangxi Reign of the Qing Dynasty. Songyang Academy of Classical Learning was a well-known ancient Chinese institution of higher learning, famous for idealist philosophy, a permanent key holy site of Confucianism.
