1Hi guys! Today we’ll have great fun. Have some delicious food and drink, and just hang around! There’s a street called Hefang Street in Hangzhou, which used to be the CBD of the city in ancient times. It is now the most famous food street here. Today I’ll invite Mingdong and Yunhan to show you around and taste different kinds of Hangzhou food. Today you are going to learn a lot of new words, such as suan (sour), tian (sweet), xian (salty), la (spicy), hao chi (delicious), and other words describing food, bu (not), bu tai (not very), ting… de (quite), hen (very), fei chang (very much), te bie (particularly), ji le (extremely), and other words indicating degree or level, as well as the Chinese names of many Chinese dishes, snacks and beverages, like cha (tea), xiao long bao (small steamed bun), xue tang (blood soup), chuan chuan (Chuanchuan), bing tang hu lu (sugar-coated haws on a stick), you tiao bao ma ci (glutinous rice wrapped in the fried dough stick), yang sheng cha (health-enhancing herbal tea), ou fen (lotus root starch), xi hu cu yu (West Lake vinegar fish), long jing xia ren (fried shrimps with Longjing tea), jiao hua ji (beggar’s chicken), dong po rou (braised Dongpo pork), and ding sheng gao (Ding sheng rice cake).
