3Chinese calligraphy is an experience course of Chinese culture of Chinese Bridge in Inner Mongolia Normal University, which has three classes. The first class briefly introduces the history of Chinese calligraphy and seal character, the second class introduces official script and regular script, and the third class introduces running script and cursive script. Chinese calligraphy, an ancient writing art of Chinese characters, with the main tools and material of writing brush, ink and paper, completes an art display and information exchange by writing. In more than 3,000 years, Chinese calligraphy develops from the inscriptions on bones, drum-shaped stones and ancient bronze objects to big seal characters, small seal characters, official script, regular script, running script and cursive script. Chinese calligraphy has become an ethnic symbol, representing the extensiveness and profound of Chinese culture and ever-lasting charming of ethnic culture. International students would understand the history of Chinese calligraphy, feel the charming of Chinese characters and motivate the interest of learning Chinese. Chinese calligraphy can be mainly divided into seal character, official script, regular script, running script and cursive script. Seal character, including big and small seal characters, is the general term of Chinese characters before the Qing Dynasty, often crafted on stone tablets and other objects. Official script is a solemn form of writing Chinese characters, with an art beauty of calligraphy. Regular script, upright and foursquare and with straight strokes, is a simpler writing method. Running script has high practicability and artistic quality with a fast speed of writing. Cursive script, simple and fast in writing, is the simplest Chinese writing, which artistic quality outweighs its practicability.
