Xidi(西递) is noted as "the Epitome of Chinese Traditional Culture" and "the Most Well-preserved Ancient Residential Complex in the World". The traditional Chinese philosophy of " Harmony Between the Heaven and Human "（天人合一） is not only reflected in the location and layout of Xidi Village, but also in the couplets which scattered all over the place. The course selects the essence from hundreds couplets in Xidi, through analyzing the shape of characters, dissecting the meanings of the characters and telling stories, delving into the background of a case the background of the times, to bring people to experience the wisdom that combines ancient and modern elements of Huizhou; Meanwhile, to introduce the various lettering that in the decorated archways, the stone tablets, the doors and windows, hoping that people could experience the beauty of Chinese calligraphy and the beauty of literal meaning, and to feel the historical humanistic connotation of Huizhou culture.
