The lecture is designed for students with little or no previous knowledge of Chinese, the lecture will be used easy-to-understand expressions, and some auxiliary pictures and English titles will be interspersed with. In order to make students gain a better understanding of China’s culture, tradition and history, the lecture has chosen four famous scenic spots from four representative and influential cities in China, such as the Badaling Great Wall in Beijing; the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, one of the famous attractions in Xi'an; the Longmen Grottoes, one of the famous attractions in Luoyang; and the Shaolin Temple, one of the famous attractions in Zhengzhou. By taking of this lecture, students will be able to have a simple understanding of the basic knowledge of Chinese history and culture, also could cultivate their interest in Chinese language learning, and lay a solid foundation for further language learning and understanding of traditional cultural knowledge.
