中文华章绽，南非情韵飞 A Brilliant Chapter of Chinese, South African Sentiments Fly

2023年6月15日，在南非开普敦市举办了“快乐中文”为主题的“汉语桥”世界小学生中文秀南非赛区决赛。来自瑞腾布小学（Rietenbosch Primary School）的两位杰出选手，凯伦（Caryn Cornelius）和小龙（Kiron Roberts）获得决赛一等奖。凯伦的演讲是《唐诗四首》，才艺是舞蹈《花儿为什么这样红》。小龙的演讲是《腊八节》，才艺是中华武术。

On June 15 2023, The First Chinese Bridge-Chinese Show for Foreign Primary School Students, South African Final Competition with the theme of “Happy Chinese” was hosted in Cape Town, by Confucius Classroom at Cape Academy of Maths, Science and Technology. Two outstanding contestants from Rietenbosch Primary School, Caryn Cornelius and Kiron Roberts, won the first prize in the finals. Caryn Cornelius delivered a speech titled “Four Tang Poems” and showcased her talent with the dance performance of “Why are flowers so red”. Kiron Roberts presented a speech at the “Laba Festival” and demonstrated his talent in Chinese martial arts.

“汉语桥”世界小学生中文秀于2021年首次举办，受到了世界各地学习中文的小学生和学校的热烈欢迎与积极参与。今年是南非首次举办地区预选赛和决赛。来自全国的17名小选手们进入决赛。活动现场特邀了七位中国南非中文专家作为评委老师，为参赛选手们提供了专业的评判和指导。

17位小选手们带来了中文歌曲、诗词、中国传统文化舞蹈、武术和书法等丰富多彩的才艺表演。为现场的观众展示了他们在中文学习的成果，生动地展现了他们对中文和中国文化的热爱与理解。

在比赛现场，还有来自的Somerset West 小学学前班学生专门准备了他们学习的中文歌曲，可爱的扮相，稚嫩的歌声把比赛推向高潮，更加展现出南非小学生们对中文学习的热情和才华。

此次比赛得到了中华人民共和国驻南非共和国大使馆、南非基础教育部、多所中小学的大力支持和高度关注。中华人民共和国驻南非共和国大使馆的李旭东教育参赞在赛后为全体选手的精彩表现进行了点评。

中文秀比赛

The Chinese Bridge-Chinese Show for Foreign Primary School Students was started in 2021 and has received enthusiastic participation and support from schools worldwide that are learning Chinese. This year marked the first time for South Africa to host the regional preliminaries and finals. Seventeen contestants from across the country entered the finals. The event invited seven Chinese experts in South Africa as judges, providing professional evaluation and guidance to the participating students.

The seventeen contestants showcased a diverse range of talents, including Chinese songs, poems, traditional Chinese dances, martial arts, and calligraphy. They vividly demonstrated their love for the Chinese language and culture, showcasing their achievements in Chinese language learning to the audience.

During the competition, preschool students from Somerset West Primary also prepared Chinese song performance. Their adorable appearance and tender voices added to the climax of the competition, further highlighting the enthusiasm and talent of South African primary school students in learning Chinese.

The competition received strong support and high attendance from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of South Africa, the South Africa Department of Basic Education, and many Universities, High Schools, and Primary Schools. Li Xudong, the Education Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of South Africa, provided comments on the wonderful performances of all the contestants after the competition.

在接受采访时，冠军小选手表示：“我非常喜欢学习中文，通过参加‘汉语桥’比赛，我可以展示我的中文水平，还能与其他学校的小朋友们交流学习。我希望能继续学习中文，将来可以更好地了解中国文化。”

“汉语桥”世界小学生中文秀比赛的成功举办为南非的中文教育注入了新的活力。这次比赛不仅是对学生们学习成果的一次展示，更是对中文学习者们学习动力的激发。通过参与比赛，学生们能够体验到用中文进行沟通和表达的乐趣，增强他们学习中文的兴趣和自信心。同时，比赛也为学校提供了一个交流和学习的平台，学校间的互动和合作将促进中文教育的发展，并培养更多对中文感兴趣的学生。

In an interview, the champion contestants expressed, “We really enjoy learning Chinese. By participating in the Chinese Bridge competition, we can showcase our Chinese proficiency and also have an opportunity to communicate and learn from other students from different countries. We hope to continue learning Chinese and have a better understanding of Chinese culture in the future”.

The successful organization of the Chinese Bridge-Chinese Show for Foreign Primary School Students has injected new vitality into Chinese education in South Africa. This competition not only exhibited the students’ learning achievements, but also motivated Chinese language learners. Through participation in the competition, students can experience the joy of communication and expression in Chinese, enhancing their interest and confidence in learning the language. Additionally, the competition provided a platform for schools to communicate and learn from each other, promoting the development of Chinese education and fostering more students interested in the Chinese language and culture.
