The Open University of China · Huaqiao College, as a special department of the Open University of China, was founded in 2016 under the joint initiative of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and The Open University of China. Huaqiao College utilizes a strategy called “Internet + Chinese” as its core education and teaching tool, and integrates language and culture throughout the Chinese teaching. The College is one of the first " International Cultural Exchange Base for Overseas Chinese " in China, a registered member of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, the Secretary-General of the “Chinese Language Education Research Alliance of Sichuan”, and establishes the “Chinese Learning and Experience Base for Foreigners in Chengdu”. It has created six branches in Chongqing, Xi'an, Ningbo, Fujian, Linyi and Baoshan, and has five overseas teaching centers in Korat, Thailand; Manila, Philippines; Barcelona, Spain; Livorno, Italy; and Singapore. Huaqiao college has hosted and participated in many international academic conferences and forums in the field of international Chinese language education, and has received overseas students on long-term study tours to China, as well as principals and teachers on exchange visits to China. It has provided Chinese language and culture courses and thematic study tours for more than 20,000 international students and teachers, and has established long-term and close cooperation with more than 50 schools and educational institutions in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, Africa.
