Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) is located in Xi’an, the cradle of Chinese civilization and an influential ancient capital of China. As a famous learning center of civil engineering and architecture in China, XAUAT boasts a long history and owns precious resources of the earliest civil engineering, architecture, and environment disciplines in China’s modern history of higher education. XAUAT is now a university co-built by Shaanxi Province, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It is among the first institutions authorized by the State Council to grant doctor’s degrees. The university offers 10 doctoral programs, 9 postdoctoral research stations, 27 first-level master’s programs, and 3 national key disciplines (architectural design and theory, structural engineering, and environmental engineering). A total of 27 national platforms, including the State Key Laboratory of Green Building in Western China and the China Academy of Urban-Rural Development and Cultural Heritage, have been established at XAUAT. With a strong faculty and sound technologies, XAUAT has produced 9 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 academician of the British Academy, and 1 academician of the Academy of Science of South Africa. XAUAT students were on the first Chinese team to win the highest prize in the International Student Competition in Architectural Design of the International Union of Architects (UIA) in 1990 and they earned the same honor again in 2014 and 2020. With an aim to enhance friendship and build a bright future together, XAUAT has dedicated itself to conducting international exchanges and cooperation in this new era.
